• The delegation of the theater at the jubilee celebrations in Georgia

    The delegation from Uzbekistan and our theater, including the director of the theater Zulfiya Hamraeva and the main art-director Malika Iskandarova, arrived in Georgia on the occasion of the anniversary of the Tbilisi State Central Theater for Young Spectators’ named after Nodar Dumbadze. Ahead of cooperation and joint performances!

    About Our Friends:
    Tbilisi State Central Theater for Young Spectators’ named after Nodar Dumbadze was formed in 1998 as a result of the unification of three theaters: the Georgian and Russian theaters for young spectators’ and the puppet theater.
    Russian Youth Theater in Tbilisi was established in 1927. The first art director of the theater was director Nikolai Marshak, who is considered the founder of the children’s theater in Georgia and the Caucasus. In the same place, the young Georgiy Tovstonogov started his career as an actor.
    The Georgian Youth Theater was founded in 1928 by director Alexander Takaishvili. The theater was actively cooperated with outstanding actors, directors and artists, among them was the famous artist Elena Akhvlediani.
    At the moment, the united Tbilisi Theater for Young Spectators’ named after Nodar Dumbadze has three independent scenes: large, small and experimental, where young directors direct contemporary drama. The performances of the theater are designed for both children and adults, and are in Russian and Georgian.
    Artistic director of the theater is director Dmitry Khvtisiashvili.
